Lunch at the end of newport beach pier.
When I was driving, seemed to somehow mysteriously leave the I5 and get onto some back road. Slight detour to get back on the interstate.
Arrive in san fran stay at hilton fishermans warf, a darlene booking, darlene ed's friend called 15 hotels to find this one. All the hotels seem to be booked out here.
Randomly walk into a bar called Tommy's joynt which happens to have coopers pale plus pastrami sandwich.
On the way down saw the aftermath of a bad crash on the highway helicopter circling etc.
